Suction adapter is a component used in the laboratory to connect the exhaust device with other glass instruments, and is usually made of high borosilicate glass. The lower end of the joint is a standard outer ground mouth, which can be tightly connected to other glass instruments with standard inner ground mouths to ensure the sealing of the device. There is usually a 90° exhaust elbow at the top of the right side, which is used to connect equipment such as an exhaust pump to evacuate the system. The ground mouth size and small nozzle diameter of different specifications are different.

Suction adapter is usually made of materials such as high borosilicate glass, which has the characteristics of high transparency, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good transparency. It has good chemical stability, can resist the erosion of various chemical substances, and is not easy to react with experimental reagents. At the same time, high borosilicate glass also has excellent thermal stability, can withstand large temperature changes, can adapt to different temperature conditions in the experiment, and is not easy to break due to sudden temperature changes. The suction adapter has a very low thermal expansion coefficient, which is about one-third of ordinary glass. It is finely frosted and leak-proof; the surface is smooth and beautiful; the pipe is thickened, with excellent craftsmanship, strong and durable.

(1) Vacuum distillation: In the vacuum distillation experiment, the distillation flask is connected to the vacuum pump, and the vacuum pump is used to reduce the pressure in the system, so that the liquid boils at a temperature lower than the boiling point at normal pressure, achieving the purpose of separating and purifying the liquid mixture.

(2) Vacuum filtration: It is used to connect the suction flask and the vacuum pump. Under the action of the vacuum pump, a negative pressure is formed in the suction flask, which speeds up the filtration speed and improves the filtration efficiency. It is often used for solid-liquid separation operations, such as filtering precipitation and collecting crystals.
