Distilling tube with two bulbs is an experimental glassware used for fractionation operation, with the following features:

Shape characteristics: It consists of a main tube and an inclined fractionating branch tube welded at an angle of approximately 75 degrees to its upper end, with two balls on the main tube.

Principle of action: By increasing the length of the tube and the structure of the bulb, the area of gas-liquid exchange and contact is expanded. In the distillation process, substances with low boiling points can be more easily distilled out. The high boiling point substances mixed in the vapor will be decelerated or blocked by the bulb, and the heat is transferred to the low boiling point substances in the fraction and then cooled into droplets, flowing back into the flask, thereby achieving the separation and purification of the mixture.

Production process: Distilling tubes are usually made of high borosilicate glass by lampworking, welding, blowing, and rounding, and the bulbs are gradually heated to the softening point for blowing.
